Erin Heath's Top Ten, 2010

So, after years of validating art as communication in papers, case studies, and research, I'm now more interested in validating art by using it as communication. For each album on my list, I chose a song and "responded" to it artistically, as art therapists would say, from a few seconds to a few minutes. After seeing Cloud Cult last week, I was reminded just how harmonious music and visual art can be when created simultaneously. Must we always review our favorite music with words? Communication, my friends, comes in many forms. Here's mine:
...hands, art, colors, music, smears, beats, water, lines...

1. Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti- Before Today

2. Beach House- Teen Dream

3. Warpaint- The Fool

4. The Walkmen- Lisbon

5. The Radio Dept- Clinging to a Scheme

6. Best Coast-Crazy for You

7. Caribou- Swim

8. Twin Shadow- Forget

9. Deerhunter- Halycon Digest

10. Toro y Moi- Causers of This
