George Soteropoulos' Starting Rotation

1) Kanye West- My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
If you like it, good...if not, even better and I'll keep it all to myself. Every fan of music has had that one live performance that shook them and made them fans of an artist forever. Fresh off of eating my Toppers breadsticks I was witness to Kanye West's "Through the Wire" video for the very first time. Intrigued about this artist and his swag led me and my best friend and critical music snob Brian Moshe to The Rave to see Kanye in person. Standing next to a legend in an inside-out Clyde Drexler jersey the entire show, Kanye proceeded blow our minds. He has continued to do so year after year and this years album Kanye put it all together to make a true masterpiece. I could go on for hours about the lyrics, execution, guest collaborations, and metaphors of the album. Instead I will leave you with three of the greatest quotes from 2010, also belonging to Kanye West.

"Everyday I wonder what Thom Yorke is doing at this very moment"

"I have decided the bless the city today by wearing a white suit"

"Chain heavy, shirt optional..."

2) The National- High Violet
Growing steadily in popularity over the years, "High Violet" was the National's final push that broke them out of indie lore and into mainstream America. Not since Chris Iaask in Wicked Game has a a singer with a more rich vocal style come along in Matt Berninger. One of my favorite live acts around, The National bring just as much intelligence to every show as they due in energy and intensity. (and twin brothers, because they also bring that to the show) As beautiful and complex as any album this year, The National are no longer lightweights but Mike Tyson's in their genre. Not many artists will have as much anticipation and hype surrounding their next album as will The National. Until then I will joyfully listen to High Violet for the 100th time.

3) The Walkmen- Lisbon
Hamilton Leithauser is a cool dude and his band is no where near regressing. Lisbon is the follow-up to the sensational You & Me, my album of the year in 2008. Intimate and romantic, the Walkmen know how to make things personal. Adding to their sound is their near flawless execution of playing live. The Walkmen are a true "album" band which is rare these days. Like fine wine their albums age even more beautifully over time. "Strong men also cry, Mr. Lebowski. Strong men... also... cry."

4) Curren$y- Pilot Talk
Former property of Young Money, this New Orleans artist put out not one defining album this year but two. Choosing between the excellent Pilot Talk 1 or 2 was not easy but that is a good problem to have if you are a fan of this pot smoking rapper. A mixtape legend in his own right Curren$y finally put forth this debut album and surrounded himself with rising stars Jay Electronica, and Big K.R.I.T., as well as hip hop legend Mos Def. Any other year this album would have been higher.

5) Deerhunter- Halcyon Digest
If Bradford Cox would stop wearing dresses he would be one of my icons. Deerhunter's last album "Microcastle" held a spot on my previous Top Ten List and this album is no exception. Halcyon Digest is enhanced by strong production from Ben Allen whose past efforts included Animal Collective's masterpiece "Merriweather Post Pavilion." Still this project centers around Cox whose lyrics and vocals excel even more so in the guitar based rock n' roll genre than in his also excellent solo work Atlas Sound.

6) The Morning Benders- Big Echo
Maybe I'm just sick of the Wisconsin winters but 2010 had me diggin beach music more than ever. This album holds one of my favorite tracks of the year "Excuses" which some dude at Sony obviously must have liked as well because it is now on one of there commercials which plays 24/7. Great melodies combined with excellent production from Chris Chu and Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear make this an enjoyable album. Plus the album cover has a great pic of a Mom in a "onesi."

7) Surfer Blood- Astro Coast
Great guitar was hard to come by in 2010, and that is why I am thankful for Surfer Blood. The classic riffs and use of re-verb and distortion along with equally harmonic melodies made this as catchy as a Vampire Weekend album but with a rougher edge. They also have a song entitled "Twin Peaks" which plays homage to David Lynch's masterpiece. The only drawback was seeing them perform live on P4K TV where I'm convinced that is not the same singer on the album. Hopefully that performance was just a goof because this debut from Florida is not. Hooray for American rock and roll.

8) Twin Shadow- Forget
I was a little late on this album but since the recommendations came in to listen to it ASAP, it has not left my tape deck. Possibly this years lyrical gem, Dominican-born George Lewis Jr. has added class to the current crop of leading men. Morrissey and Bowie would be proud. And just like that George proclaims in his album, this George can also not wait for summer.

9) Broken Bells
The Shins "Oh, Inverted World" and Danger Mouse's (aka Brian Burton) "The Grey Album" a mash up of Jay-Z's Black Album and The Beatles White Album were two of my choices for albums of the decade. It was a no brainer that when these two hooked up I was looking forward to the collaboration. Burton plays most of his own instruments this time instead his usual sampling and Mercer's vocals are some of the best in the biz. A great album to fold your laundry to.

10) Tame Impala- Innerspeaker
When Noel Gallagher shows up at a concert I listen. This Australian trio debut's album explores the psychedelica of Pink Floyd, Cream, and The Flaming Lips all wrapped up in a Sgt. Peppers blanket. Lead singer Kevin Parker is a dead ringer for John Lennon and at times takes his vocals to atmospheric levels. If you stopped smoking pot for awhile here's your excuse to fire it up again.

Jeff Tyree's Top Ten Albums of 2010

10. !!! - Strange Weather,Isn't It?

This Album wasn't as good as some of their earlier work, but when your that amazing it's hard to keep reaching new creative heights. The recording of this album is very well done, you'll also notice some improved editing form earlier in this band's career. I had a chance to party with them in Chicago after their most recent show at the Bottom Lounge, and they were great people, not pretentious at all. Really one of my personal all time favorite bands.

Choice Track:

9. Avi Buffalo - Avi Buffalo

Very solid debut album from a great band in the making. Sub Pop has a bit of momentum here as they have found themselves another gem.

Choice Track:

8. Liars - Sisterworld

Inspired by the city of LA ,90's grunge, and Black Sabbath Liars take another step forward. They continue to produce the most consistent stream of experimental rock that is out their in the current music scene. One of the best bands that you can see perform and they really are underrated for the influence they have on others in the industry.

Choice Track:

7.Matthew Dear - Black City

This is my first encounter with Mathew Dear, and I am pretty impressed. I definitely think this album is any bit as unique as anything else out this year. could have been in my top five if I re-wrote this list in a month.

Choice Track:

6. LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening

Great album once again. This band has now released two consecutive solid albums. The word on the street is that they are one album away from calling it quits. Let's hope that the next album continues to build on the "Modern Day - Talking Heads" thing they are doing.

Choice Track :

5.Girls - Broken Dreams Club EP

Also see, Elvis Costello. Honestly not sure why I think this is so rad...but I do. I think that really big things are on the horizon for this band and their next full length album.

Choice Track:

4. Porcelain Raft - Collection of Porcelain EP

37 year old italian dude who spends most of his time in Austria. Great EP, I really am excited to see what full length will sound like. If your into spaced out, alt rock this is just your thing.

Choice Track:

3.Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Before Today

David Bowie would have been very proud of this album. The live show was a bit more bizzare then good which probably cost this album the number 2 spot. Still a great record with a classic sound that will have you going back to this album for years to come. BTW - this unofficial video is ridiculous!

Choice Track:

2. Beach House - Teen Dream

This is such a well written record that poeple will be covering these songs in bars, record studios and live concerts forvever. Easily their best work.

Choice Track:

1.Twin Shadow - Forget

Best Album of the year. No fat on this thing at all. Every song is just as vital as the next and live performance was incredible. I guess the only question now is "Who wants a mustache ride?"

Choice Track:

Daniel Meddaugh "Keeping it Professional"

While witnessing the Green Bay (or should I say Acme) Packers beat up on the 49ers, I made a conscious decision to post my top ten of '10. Without any further ado

10. The Tallest Man on Earth - The Wild Hunt: Maybe it's the homey raspy voice, or the simple yet catchy lyrics, or the more than likely fact that he is Swedish, but Kristian Matsson tends to find a way into my regular mix of music to listen to. Other years (like last), this would find itself higher than 10, yet this year saw some incredible albums.

9. LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening: DRUNK GIRLS (drumbeat...) DRUNK GIRLS... How does a man talking over music reach the top 10... because it's James... and he isn't afraid to admit it (as he did at Pitchfork '10, when he asked the crowd in the middle of "Pow Pow" if we realized we just listen to him talk over a drumbeat for 9 minutes)... and for songs like "Pow, Pow", "I Can Change", and "Dance Yrself Clean"... garnishes a 9 spot.

8. Yeasayer - Odd Blood: When I saw them at Pitchfork '09, and they talked about their two new members, I was pretty excited for this new album, and they didn't disappoint. Their combination of electronic, coupled with their groove, made a solid album from start to finish.

7. Belle & Sebastian - Write About Love: What can I say, B&S keep producing hits after hits, and they are also my biggest disappointment (The fact I missed them in Chicago in November). Catchy lyrics, that ranges over all emotions in 11 simple songs. Big ups to their song "Little Lou, Ugly Jack, Prophet John"... coupled with Norah Jones, pure beauty, to then produce "I'm Not Living in the Real World", pure genius.

6. Sleigh Bells - Treats: Loud, Obnoxious, Brash... it's everything I hate in music, yet throughout the summer I couldn't stop listening to this Brooklyn-charged album. Although I doubt this duo will create the same magic on a second album, doesn't mean I can't enjoy this surprisingly good album.

5. Big Boi - Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Sun of Chico Dusty: In a surprise year for hip hop, Big Boi stands at the top. Big Boi is slowly showing that he doesn't need Andre 3000 to be successful, and with songs "Shutterbugg" and "General Patton", with an appearance from another surprise in '10, Janelle Monae, this album makes its way onto this list.

4. The Black Keys - Brothers: Another music duo makes the top 10 list, and while also having the music video of the year (for Tightrope - "But he smells like Ranch dressing" gets me everytime). This album shows me that alternative rock is not dead, yet extremely alive.

3. Of Montreal - False Priest: An album that makes you feel dirty listening to it, Kevin did it once again after taking a break with Skeletal Lamping. Not Hissing Fauna good, but it's good to have the pop-catchy bubblegum Rated R lyrics of Kevin back.

2. Local Natives - Gorilla Manor: Also get the award of "New Artist of the year", Local Natives debut album is packed with hit after hit. Were the biggest surprise at Pitchfork '10, and would have been #1 if it wasn't for my favorite band coming out with another monster album... which leads to #1...

1. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs: It isn't fair, it really isn't. They're the reason why I limit my Canadian jokes to 30 a year (never counted). The band is hitting 3 for 3, and are slowly becoming the biggest band out there (if they haven't gotten there already)...Pardon my obsession with this band, but their ability to incite thought-provoking lyrics, with their "we hate society-yet love them" - Such as in the song "Sprawl II - Mountains beyond Mountains) all at the same time makes this an easy #1.

Honorable Mentions: Janelle Monae - Archandroid (With Song of the Year - "Tightrope"), Matt and Kim - Sidewalks, Best Coast - Crazy For You, Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz, Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Sarah V's Top 10 Albums and Concerts of the Year 2010

1) Sufjan Stevens – The Age of Adz: Yes! Yes! YES! Sufjan may have diverged from his tried and true sound but I think this album put a breath of fresh air into his style. This album was locked into my top spot when he played it in its entirety when I saw him in October.

2) Janelle Monae – The ArchAndroid: Dear God, this woman can SING. This album perfectly blends classic and modern with so many musical influences throughout space and time, and yet it all sounds seemless.

3) Arcade Fire – The Suburbs: At first, I wasn’t all that impressed by this album. But I kept listening, and listening, and eventually I couldn’t stop listening. From start to finish, this album is solid. It also happens to have the perfect tempo for brisk walking – a must for any city dweller.

4) The National – High Violet: Shortly after its release, a heavy, vinyl copy of High Violet unexpectedly showed up on my doorstep (courtesy of my boyfriend and one of the National’s biggest fans, Paul Smaxwill). This album is yet another gem in their catalog. They also have one of the most commanding live shows I’ve seen.

5) The Black Keys – Brothers: I seriously respect two-member bands that can make a lot of noise. Though this album is so much more than noise. Every song grabs me – it’s an album I can sink my teeth into. Also, using the harpsichord earns extra points.

6) Sharon Van Etten – Epic: It’s short, it’s sweet, it’s just like Sharon Van Etten. This album was the perfect progression from her first album, Because I Was In Love. She’s picked up the pace and lost none of her rawness.

7) Freelance Whales – Weathervanes: Oh, the harmonies. Oh, the harmonium. Every member of this band sings, creating a depth to their sound that is irresistible to my ears. Fun to sing and bounce along to.

8) Band of Horses – Infinite Arms: Speaking of harmony...This album is pretty at times, and rocking at others. And the album cover is just so pretty...Also, I’m a sucker for slide guitar.

9) Cloud Cult – Light Chasers: If Cloud Cult puts out an album, it’s a safe bet it’s on my end of the year list. This certainly isn’t my favorite album of theirs, but it has everything that I like about them: existential lyrics that leave me tearing up with the joy of being alive, swelling strings, and a quirkiness that I will always appreciate. Cloud Cult’s music strikes a deep chord in me that’s hard to articulate and is felt most keenly during their impressive live shows.

10) Bonobo – Black Sands: This album is nothing but sexy grooves. A perfect album to chill (and/or do drugs) to (if you’re into that sort of stuff).

Honorable Mentions (in no particular order! After the excruciating process of picking just ten for my list, I simply cannot bring myself to rank these):
The Avett Brothers – I and Love and You, Matt and Kim – Sidewalks, New Pornographers – Together, Vampire Weekend – Contra, Breathe Owl Breathe – Magic Central, LCD Soundsystem – This Is Happening, Wolf Parade – Expo 86, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings – I Learned the Hard Way, Gorillaz – Plastic Beach, Gayngs – Relayted, Beach House – Teen Dream, Junip – Fields, Broken Bells – Broken Bells, Laura Veirs – July Flame, Stars – The Five Ghosts

What can I say? It was a good year for music!

Top Concerts of 2010
1) Sufjan Stevens – Portland

2) Of Montreal with Janelle Monae –Portland

3) LCD Soundsystem - Sasquatch

4) Arcade Fire with Calexico - Portland

5) The National - Sasquatch

6) Passion Pit - Sasquatch

7) Vampire Weekend – Milwaukee

8) The xx with jj and Nosaj Thing – Portland

9) Shout Out Louds with Freelance Whales – Portland

10) Junip with Sharon Van Etten – Portland

Biggest Disappointments:
Album: Margot and The Nuclear So and So’s – Buzzard: It just lacks that special something of their other albums. Maybe I need more time...

Concert: Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros – Wonder Ballroom, Portland: At my fourth ESATMZ’s show I sadly realized they need to take a break already. And what was with all the douchebags in attendance?

Matty B's Top Albums of 2010

10. Warpaint- "The Fool" Haunting, moody, ethereal record. Warpaint to me seem to be the one of the best in a crop of similar artists (generally fronted by women including Glasser, Twin Sister and to some degree School of Seven Bells) that seem to be making some really interesting atmospheric music these days. The thing that sets Warpaint apart is the shear amount of layers buried in the music. If you listen closely enough, there's almost a jam groove there that you definitely don't pick up at the onset. Standout track is definitely the first single 'Undertow' but this is a record well worth your time.

9. Belle & Sebastian- "Write About Love" If Belle & Sebastian release an album, there's a pretty good chance it's going to be on my year end list. Stuart & company find themselves a little older, wiser & more laid back than on the past few albums and although it may not be the same quiet masterpiece of 'If you're feeling Sinister' or 'Boy with the Arab Strap'...it's nonetheless a worthy addition to an illustrious career. While the Norah Jones guest vocals at the onset seems unnecessary....I find myself actually enjoying it a lot (and with the ubiquity of 'guest vocal' appearances by Ms. Jones....this turns out to be one of the better ones).

8. Sleigh Bells- "Treats" Are Brooklyn's Sleigh Bells a 1-trick pony?....probably.... Are they capable of anything deeper than the bombastic & driving sound of the whole of the songs on their audaciously bass busting debut 'Treats'....probably not.....but MAN what a sound!! It's rare to hear an artist that carries true power & the combination of off the rails guitar, maxxed out back-beats & cheerleader vocals, Sleigh Bells have come up with a truly original & unmistakeable sound. Do I see a lot of room for growth? not really...but who knows! Sometimes ya just gotta enjoy albums on a surface level & not think too much about where the next step in their career will be. Treats is a a lesson in raw intensity that is refreshing and really exciting to listen to.

7. Vampire Weekend- "Contra" Success can be a funny thing for artists. When it came time for Vampire Weekend to release the follow up to their smash self titled debut, they were put in the odd position of facing some daunting, pre-emptive harsh criticism of some of the same fans that championed them in the very early days of their development. To (almost) everybody in hipster community's shock, VW by many accounts delivered an excellent album in Contra even garnering Pitchfork 'Best New Music' tag. I Contra as a great evolution and continued development of a very appealing sound that is one part world music, one part heartfelt songwriting & about 3 parts gratuitous pop (not that there's anything wrong with gratuitous pop!) I will admit that if I hear 'Holiday' in one more Christmas themed commercial, I might have to take that particular song out of my itunes...but overall this is a satisfying & enjoyable record.

6. Best Coast- "Crazy for You" The debut from the surf-rock musical vehicle of Californian & THC enthusiast Bethany Cosentino has just a tremendous knack for taking really simple but great musical ideas & translating them into wonderfully personal & familiar terms. It's hard for me to tell if the massive amounts of teenage yearning contained in the album is sarcastic, sincere or some combination of both...but the fact is, for me, it's actually really refreshing just to hear some good solid pop songs about boyfriends, breakups, infatuation & heartache. Delivered with an excellent lo-fi nod to 60s girl groups & surf rock and just enough technical merit to pull it off convincingly, Best Coast has the start to a promising career drawn up in 'Crazy for You'. Favorite line in the record (which also pretty much sums it up) "I lost my job, I miss my mom, I wish my cat could talk" from track 4 'Goodbye'

5. Land of Talk- "Cloak & Cipher" Canada's Land of Talk has been kicking around for a number of years now & have put out a couple of other pretty great records although for me, none of those have even come close to 2010's 'Cloak & Cipher'. It's real shame that this release went largely unnoticed because the fact is, it is an excellently crafted record with moments where it's vulnerable others with real strength & at some points just downright anthemic. Whereas Canadian counterparts Metric seem to be hellbent on pure pop & Broken Social Scene conversely throwing everything at the wall in their latest release, Land of Talk demonstrates a measure of songcraft, proficiency & heart that's sorely missing from the 2 aforementioned artists latest releases. Singer Elizabeth Powell delivers a heartfelt performance paired with excellently epic arrangements that add up to a very compelling record from Land of Talk.

4. The Black Angels- "Phosphene Dream" Talk about a band coming out of left field for me!! I had cast off the last two Black Angels releases as average-at-best psych rock albums (a position I've now revised even on those albums).... but from the first notes of 'Phosphene Dream', I knew that there was something really special & exciting about this record. For starters...it's wonderfully evil..but evil in a good way...kinda like 70s Ozzy evil. With swirling guitar, reverby vocals & straight up psychedelic organ, "Phosphene Dream" sounds like it could have been ripped directly from another decade & does so unapologetically. Paired this with some amazingly creepy vocals and extremely dark lyrics, Phosphene Dream is an awesomely crankable record that's sure to put you in a villainous mood. (and some days that's just what you need).

3. The National- "High Violet" For my money, The National are one of the best live bands on the planet today. The shear intensity & blazing power that these guys are capable of live is more or less unmatched in my book. High Violet marks another excellent entry in what has been an increasingly exciting career to watch. Singer Matt Berninger's deep booming vocals make the headline here although that shouldn't mean that the tremendous rhythm section & downright proficiency should be overlooked. I found High Violet to be a far more instantly accessible record than 2007's masterpiece "Boxer" and in many ways the songs play better to the increasingly growing audiences that are showing up to see these guys. With gorgeously arranged songs & deeply cathartic moments of intensity, High Violet delivers on the promise of a band that is quickly & rightfully taking it's place alongside the truly great artists of their era.

2. The Arcade Fire- "The Suburbs" When I heard the first few tracks 'The Suburbs' & 'Month of May' that went to the internet from The Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs", I have to admit I was caught off guard. Both tracks were stripped down, almost laid back & decidedly non-epic. I have to admit, I was worried. I like my Arcade Fire EPIC . What's funny about "The Suburbs" is that in the end, not only does it turn out to be incredibly epic, it also does so without a lot of the devices that it's predecessor 'Neon Bible' did. The diversity on this record is truly amazing and the ability for The Arcade fire to tell compelling stories over the course of an album through the use of recurrent musical themes is something they have basically mastered. Very very exciting. Standout track to me is actually "Sprawl II" which Regina takes lead vocals on . Inspired record to say the least.

1. Janelle Monae- "The ArchAndroid" For 2010 choosing my number one album of the year was an absolutely clear choice for me. Janelle Monae's "The ArchAndroid" is simply put, a work of massive ambition, incredible imagination & true brilliance from one of the most promising artists I've heard in years. The 2nd & 3rd part in Monae's Afro-futurism epic 'Metropolis' project, Monae assumes the role of 'Cindy Mayweather' an android sent to save the futuristic society of Metropolis. As if this, thematically isn't enough, Monae traverses an incredible amount of genres with ease & skill throughout the course of the album from soul, to punk to salsa. All this is done effortlessly and naturally with true intelligence and the whole thing is strung together just beautifully. Monae possesses the rare triple threat of being a truly gifted singer, amazingly entertaining performer and overtly imaginative songwriter. If you have not heard this album, for god's sake...stop reading this & go listen to it!

honorable mentions:

Beach House- "Teen Dream"
Amazing, atmospheric record. no reason this shouldn't be in my top ten other than the fact that i ran out spaces.
Sharon Van Etten- "Epic" Understated beauty, compelling songwriting. Probably should have spent more time with this one.
New Pornographers- "Together" Another highly competent & enjoyable record from one of the decades most reliable bands.
Superchunk- "Majesty Shredding" Return from one of my all time fave bands that shows no sign of dust despite having not recorded for 8 years.
Cults- "7"" Only 3 songs, but a nonetheless excellent glimpse at a promising artist.

TOP 10 ALBUMS OF 2010

POSTING
All lists are posted at http://lettershomefromcamp.blogspot.com/
here's how...
Login at: http://www.blogspot.com
Username: top10albums

under "Manage Your Blogs" go to "New Post" & get listing!!
(or just e-mail them to me at top10albums@gmail.com & I'll put em up for you")

and now....

THE RULES

1. Albums of must have a release date between November 1 2009 & January 1 2011-
always rule #1... always the hardest one to follow.....and for those who say 'I haven't even listened to 10 albums this year!!' my response... there's a month left... the average album is 43 mins...get crackin!! Good sources for verifying album release date: allmusic.com amazon.com & itunes.

2. Every selection must be accompanied with a short yet thoughtful explanation- Because what's the point of telling us what your favorite albums are if you don't tell us why? (right?) I've been known to write some pretty lengthy descriptions....although a sentence or two will suffice....if not into long form writing perhaps a Twitter length at 140 or so characters?
here are a few good examples from last year
http://lettershomefromcamp.blogspot.com/2010/01/rich-mars-top-10-list.html here http://lettershomefromcamp.blogspot.com/2009/12/ervs-list-o-da-year.html and here http://lettershomefromcamp.blogspot.com/2009/12/brian-wooldridge-best-albums-of-2009.html

3. NO GREATEST HITS ALBUMS!!!- folks, no ifs, ands, or buts on the greatest hits albums...period. Any inclusion of greatest hits albums will be looked at as a direct infraction of rule number 1 & shall be frowned upon with ruthless dismay. B-sides, rarities compilations & reissues will be taken on a case by case basis.

4. Leaked & Internet only albums - It has recently been brought to my attention that occasionally, albums appear on 'the internets' well before their scheduled release date...moreover... reportedly...excited music fans tend to get ahold of said 'leaked' albums (I know! I couldn't believe it either!!!).... in all seriousness...leaked albums are a fact of life.... if you should happen to get ahold of some contraband here and the RIAA doesn't send a swat team to your house....feel free to include on the list (however including the same album 2 years in a row is discouraged)

5. Audio & Visual Aids encouraged- CD Covers, embedded video, album inspired art....whatever you need to make your point! (if you need help getting those posted, just drop me a line at top10albums@gmail.com & i'm happy to help)

6. Positive/Negative Comments welcome- This is all about diversity of opinion & it's definitely a good thing to encourage your fellow likeminded music fans with positive comments...but let's face...it's fun to mix it up with the occasional 'what the hell was that?' comment & a little debate....makes things interesting...no?

7. Other lists, observations & stuff share extremely encouraged- best shows, most anticipated music for 2011, biggest disappointments, hottest indie chick or dude.....general observation about music in general? Other lists and posts are interesting & highly encouraged.

8. PLEASE share this with your music loving friends- Everyone's invited to participate. Everyone's invited to the listening party. (doesn't matter if we know you or not...we want your list....we want you to come to the listening party!)

9. In order to be taken seriously your list must be posted in a timely fashion- Sure....we'll still read your list, however we'll be forced to assume that the reason I didn't see it til FREAKIN JULY was because you just wanted to make sure nobody would read it....Listening Party is December 26. That cool? cool...

10. Any of these rules can be bent, broken or reinterpreted at any time for any reason- So am I telling you that after reading all of these rules that what I really meant to say is that none of the rules matter at all? ....yeah...that's pretty much what I'm telling you.... sorry. don't freak out.
